X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Rumours That Mean It Could Be The Best One Yet

6. Gambit Fills Another Horseman Saddle

Apocalypse isn't the only X-film set for release in 2016: Channing Tatum is due to portray the Cajun mutant Gambit in a spin-off film that will come out only a few months after the titanic on-screen struggle between the X-Men and En Sabah Nur. Sony is definitely going to want to promote the heck out of that solo movie, meaning that the card-throwing charmer is odds-on to cameo alongside the X-Men. The most efficient way for Singer to bring Gambit into the Apocalypse storyline is to make the rebellious Remy LeBeau another one of the Horsemen - well, that's the theory according to the rumour mill. His inclusion as a warrior for En Sabah Nur would pave the way for the Gambit film without the need for a long origin tale. In the comic book Blood Of Apocalypse storyline, Gambit was Death (like so many before him), but that spot is certain to be taken by a higher profile mutant. That leaves the part of Pestilence or Famine available for the fan-favourite mutant. Perhaps, after Apocalypse modifies his abilities, Gambit will toss out diseases like playing cards.
