The Doctor, the TARDIS, and the Daleks travel to Hollywood once more!

Much like spilled glitter, Doctor Who gets everywhere.

The show has been around for so long and has survived so many different eras of pop-culture that there are references to it everywhere you look, intentional or otherwise. In fact, we've already done several lists about how Doctor Who has appeared in movies and other TV shows, but guess what? We're still not done!

The following ten movies all contain references to our favourite Time Lord and their Whoniverse. Some are explicit with their love for the show, with linked dialogue, props, and even characters right there in plain sight. Others though, they're more subtle, hiding little tidbits and easter eggs in the background for dedicated sleuths to track down.

In other words, they're all connected to the Whoniverse now. You probably shouldn't count them as official canon – complicated as Doctor Who canon is, that would cause all sorts of headaches – but definitely keep an eye out for these nods the next time you watch any of these movies.

10. Ted 2

The brainchild of Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, Ted is a movie about a child's teddy bear that comes to life and causes all sorts of problems for his adult owner.

MacFarlane voices Ted, Marky-Mark Wahlberg plays his buddy John, and in the 2015 sequel Ted 2, this dynamic duo is joined by Mamma Mia star Amanda Seyfried, who plays Sam.

After an argument with John and Sam, a furious Ted runs away and ends up at New York Comic-Con. The ensuing sequence results in a massive and hilarious brawl between various cosplayers, including an unmissable nod to the Whoniverse.

Alongside the likes of Flash Gordon, Bumblebee from Transformers, and Godzilla, a chunky Dalek of the bronze Time War variety can be spotted in the background of the fight. Everyone get out of there! Don't you know how dangerous those things are?!

This wasn't the first time MacFarlane had referenced Doctor Who in his work.

Family Guy is full of nods to the show, and considering how much of a Star Trek fan he is (he literally made his own Star Trek show with The Orville), there's a good chance he's seen a fair few episodes of Doctor Who in his time.
