I love Game of Thrones, and I love writing about Game of Thrones. You can probably tell from this article. Or this. Or this. So if anyone's going to throw stones at it, it's usually not me. Because I love it. Is that clear yet? But recently, I've been doing some soul-searching, and after watching through Season 3 again I've come to the shocking conclusion that it isn't perfect. Occasionally, it drops below its meteoric standards, and this can often be left at the characters' door. Sometimes they can be disappointing, sometimes they commit baffling actions and sometimes they just simply don't translate well onto the screen. Of course, how that translation works out is very much the script writer's job, and George R. R. Martin's books are just so bloody vast that they can't possibly put everything mentioned on screen. So they do have to be choosy, and can occasionally end up sidelining characters or not letting them fulfil their awesome potential. And there's always the possibility that the character didn't have much to do in the parts of a Storm of Swords which were brought to life this season.
