18. Starfleet Experimental Uniform (USS Protostar) - Early 2380s

For a brief but glorious period, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy and Star Trek: Picard were all on the air at the same time, with some crossovers there between. The early and mid-2380s became a bit crowded. The Cerritos was in service in 2382, while the Romulan Supernova took place in 2385.

Roughly in the middle lies the first season of Prodigy, featuring the USS Protostar and more specifically the uniforms assigned to that ship. This was a deliberate decision by the Hageman Brothers and director Ben Hibon, as they explained in an interview with Inverse in 2022:

Since the USS Protostar is an experimental starship, we felt it gave us some freedom to create our own uniform design, as long as it fit alongside the uniforms of this era.

This connects with many other eras of Star Trek that sees several uniform styles in service at the same time.
