13. Ad Astra Per Aspera Dress Uniform - Late 2250s/Early 2260s

For the Strange New Worlds second season episode Ad Astra Per Aspera, costume designer Bernadette Croft created an updated dress uniform, one that chronologically appears before those seen in Journey To Babel, Court Martial, and The Counter-Clock Incident.

This new design, worn by regular officers and flag officers alike, retains the gold collar and piping, while adding gold epaulets and sleeve stripes. Standard officers wore their division colours - Gold for Command, Blue for Science/Medical and Red for Security/Operations, while Flag Officers wore black.

A further variant appeared a year earlier, worn by cadets. Then-Cadet Nyota Uhura wore one to dinner in Captain Pike's quarters, not realising it was a more casual affair.
