10 MAJOR Changes Coming To WWE Following UFC Merger
What does WWE merging with UFC mean for Triple H, PPV prices and...Conor McGregor?!
Admit it. Had someone strolled up at the start of 2023, pulled you to one side and said WWE would merge with UFC under the Endeavor Group umbrella over WrestleMania weekend, you'd have laughed right in their face and told them to stop spouting such nonsense publicly, lest others giggle too.
It just happened, and now every hardcore pro wrestling and MMA fan alike must collectively sit tight to see what's coming next. Some of it will be just as Triple H said right at the top of Monday's episode of Raw - it'll be business as usual for both money-spinning juggernauts.
"Some of it".
There are changes on the horizon though. They might not be immediate, but they will be major and they will have a huge impact on how some digest WWE's product. Put it this way: WrestleMania 39, a show Trips proudly gushed about for pushing the future of WWE, could be the last of its kind.
Endeavor are known for favouring the bottom line over everything else, and that could reshape WWE for good. 'Then. Now. Forever. Endeavor'? Strap yourselves in, people.
This could get rather bumpy!
10. A Roster Clear Out
Something grim to start with, sadly.
It'd suck if this happened, because some hardworking people would lose their gig, but it seems likely that WWE will clear house following the merger. There were rumours of that being the case post-WrestleMania anyway (remember those old post-'Mania "spring cleaning" purges?), to be honest.
WWE's roster is bloated. There's no arguing that, and mass culls could be coming relatively soon on Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Of course, nobody is quite sure what impact the UFC merger will have on NXT Europe either - watch this space for more on that topic when news is available.
Unfortunately, several WWE stars could find themselves tossed out of rings like Liv Morgan was by her partner Raquel Rodriguez in Hollywood. Then, others will play the role of the women who caught her and become collateral damage themselves.
That roster could look rather different six short months from now.
