8. 3-Minute Warning Went Clothes Shopping Hours Before Debut
Eventually, one half of '3-Minute Warning' would go on to find more success as the wild man Umaga. By contrast, the other half of the team was given a gimmick he sorely hated, becoming a 'Super Hero In Training' (S.H.I.T) alongside The Hurricane. As 3-Minute Warning, the pair were known as Rosey and Jamal, introduced by Eric Bischoff in July, 2002. The general idea was that the team were used as a threat by the Raw General Manager, like he was giving wrestlers a warning for disregarding his authority. It was a neat idea, but the tandem wouldn't really find the success they may have hoped for. Before making their debut on the July 22nd, 2002 episode of Monday Night Raw, the duo were relatively unclear on the direction of their gimmicks. Approached backstage hours before bell time by a WWE official, the pair were informed that they had to have a 'hip-hop' look in time for the show. Clearly, the promotion had left it a little late, but Rosey and Jamal were able to find a small Indian convenience store just a short way away from the venue. Grabbing everything they could, 3-Minute Warning tailored their own look before their first appearance. According to Rosey, they arrived back at the building shortly before running out in front of the crowd.
