25 Worst Wrestling Moments Of 2020

14. The Trash Tentacle Monster

One thing you might've forgotten about this Street Profits vs. Viking Raiders feud is that passers by sporadically called Ivar "cute" but his pal Erik "not so much". That was a side story to the Raw Tag-Team Titles, but the match at Backlash never officially got underway before both teams brawled backstage at the Performance Center.

That's when things really went south.

Akira Tozawa (him again) interrupted the fighting by introducing his gang of ninjas, as you do. Then, a 7-foot ninja wielding a giant sword sent The Profits and Raiders running. Eventually, all 4 guys found themselves trading punches and kicks as they all fell into a big skip nearby. Oh yes, sentences like that sum up the closed door PC days perfectly.

In lieu of an actual match, WWE had Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, Erik and Ivar look around all scared before apparently being being mauled by some angry version of Oscar from Sesame Street. Later, it was said that this "Oscar" had tentacles and lurked out back of the Performance Center.

Gee, you'd think with all that money Vince was making he'd hire in pest control. Maybe monster control would be more fitting. It's probs just as well nobody pitched that in a creative meeting or we might've had it happen on Raw or SmackDown.

Typically, WWE didn't follow up on any of this by booking the tentacle monster as a special guest referee (or something) at Extreme Rules. That would've been a real "Horror Show", right enough. What a time 2020 was.
