5. Moves Without Flow Is Not A Good Match

Well, Jade Cargill versus Tiffany Stratton certainly was a match that happened.

Similar to the men’s United States Championship match, the women’s version was also something that was much better suited for SmackDown than a PLE slot. The match was just Jade and Tiffany running through a series of moves with no real rhyme or reason for about five minutes before the glut of run-ins started, with the Baddies, Chelsea Green, and finally Charlotte Flair getting involved, leading to Stratton picking up the win and retaining her title.

There really isn’t much else to say about the match itself. However, it’s worth noting that Tiffany really seems to have plateaued as a performer. She looked to be ascending as a future superstar and anchor in the women’s division, but has she had a really, really good (not even great) match in the past six months?

Charlotte versus Jade at SummerSlam should be the kind of rivalry that gets a lot of eyeballs, and Flair might even be able to lead Jade through a really solid match. It’s certainly one of the true marquee matchups WWE has in its women’s division, and it’s good to see them pull the trigger on it. What’s interesting is that they apparently aren’t going to feud over a title. Conventional wisdom said that Cargill would win the US Title Saturday and defend that against Charlotte at SummerSlam.

Either way, that feud should be entertaining. This match? Not so much.
