4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (14 Sept - Results & Review)
WWE goes wrestling-heavy for Mexico City show and it works tremendously.
Don’t let the count of the ups and downs from this week fool you: Monday Night Raw was a successful night for WWE emanating from Mexico City in front of an eager, attentive, and vocal audience.
To their credit, WWE didn’t fuss about, delivering a significant (for them) amount of wrestling – and pretty good wrestling at that – on television and putting two new Spanish-speaking world champions onto the screen right from the jump. They kept the antics to a minimum and focused on the significance of the matches.
Take note: There was minimal Bloodline melodrama, no in-ring Vision promo, no goofy Lyra Valkyria promo, and only a small amount of antics between matches. This allowed the focus to remain on the two Money in the Bank qualifiers and the two scheduled title matches, with Chad Gable and Dragon Lee predictably bringing the house down.
Then there was a fantastic main event, with Roman Reigns getting all he could handle from Penta, electrifying fans and whipping them into a frenzy as the match reached a fever pitch. And for good measure, the show opened with those two new Spanish-speaking world champions who were crowned this weekend. Now that’s a flex.
Let’s get to it…
