Joe Hendry Breaks Silence On Controversial Danhausen/Ryan Garcia Segment (WWE News)

Joe Hendry's singalong segment with Danhausen, the Minihausens and a cast of backup dancers on the 27 July episode of Raw didn't go down too well with a large portion of the audience. Indeed, social media's (typically negative) microcosm brutally buried it by claiming it's 'one of the worst segments in the history of the show'.

Now, Hendry has broached the subject with an honest and upfront take on the Cheap Heat podcast. There, the Scot called WWE's roster "extremely passionate", and said the "the goal is, and always has been for me, to give the audience value". Sometimes that works, but sometimes it doesn't.

Joe called it "the best feeling in the world" when a joke lands or people appreciate what's in front of them. Sadly, that isn't always possible. Nobody has a 100% success rate in wrestling, and that's just the way it is. On the pod, Hendry recalled standing backstage on an independent card in Germany and praying a crowd of 300 people would understand the comedic music video he'd put together mocking an opponent.

Closing, Joe left it with this: "I give my absolute best efforts, and we’re gonna try a lot of things. Some things are gonna land and some things won’t, but we will always give our best efforts".

Fans online were also unhappy that boxer Ryan Garcia was involved in the segment by attacking Hendry and Danhausen. The whole thing fell flat, but Hendry is keen to chalk it up as experience and move on.
