2. Lynch, Vaquer Set Up Rivalry
WWE managed a miracle last week when they revitalized their women’s division by having Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch return in the same segment to confront Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.
But both former world champions immediately had tension with each other, which continued Monday night.
Vaquer said she missed “this ring” and “seeing Liv and Judgment Day get scared” every time they saw her coming. She pledged to take the stable out one by one, reminding Raquel Rodriguez that she had beaten her up repeatedly, and warning Roxanne Perez that she was “a dead woman.”
Lynch emerged next and questioned Vaquer’s claim to the title, noting that La Primera has achieved a lot on the main roster, which is remarkable considering how often she’s been injured. Becky suggested that Stephanie’s body keeps giving up so her mind doesn’t have to surrender.
The two threw down warnings to the other, but it was Lynch who suffered a sneak attack from Morgan before Vaquer helped chase her off, leading to another tense staredown between The Man and La Primera.
There’s always a chance one of these women will either turn heel or play the role situationally, but for now, two alpha females posturing and positioning themselves for a world title match is exactly what this division needs. Liv has a stable watching her back, but she’s definitely feeling the pressure of two former champs gunning for her.
