4. Punishment For Dom?
What else are fans supposed to think about the ongoing beating of Dominik Mysterio on Raw other than he’s being punished for venting about how he’s been booked?
Mysterio, the AAA Mega Champion heading into that promotion’s biggest show of the year next month, lost an impromptu match clean to Dragon Lee, who himself will most likely lose in the second round of a luchador tournament to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico City.
The match itself started slowly, with Dragon attempting to get the pin early before Dominik took over with a dive to the floor and a nifty 619 using the apron. They continued to trade signature offense at half-speed until Mysterio nailed a 619, only for his frogsplash to hit knees. Dragon immediately capitalized with Operation Dragon for the win.
And that was that. It’s hard to not believe that Dominik is in the doghouse when he’s thrown into an impromptu nothing match and loses clean like that – and his wrestling seemed to indicate he knew he was being punished. Funny how Mysterio was one of the most over wrestlers coming out of WrestleMania 41 and WWE has managed to piss it all away and job out one of their brand’s champions a month before AAA's biggest show.
