8 Gimmick Matches You'll NEVER See In WWE Again

3. Buried Alive

Of all of the matches on this list, the 'Buried Alive' bout feels like the most feasible one that could happen. It's unlikely, for reasons we'll get into, but not entirely impossible. 'Jungle Boy' Jack Perry and Christian Cage had a 'Final Burial' match in AEW, but there's a very specific reason that it's still incredibly unlikely to happen again in a WWE ring.

Between 1996 and 2010, 5 'Buried Alive' matches took place with one very obvious common denominator: The Undertaker. Yes, this was 'The Deadman's' signature match. Over the years, he faced Mankind, Steve Austin, Vince McMahon, Kane and teamed with Big Show to defeat The Rock 'N Sock Connection in the only one worked tag style.

We say this is unlikely to happen again, but don't rule it out entirely because it is a fun match type that thrilled audiences and is perfect for someone with a spooky gimmick. When analysing WWE across the board, there's currently no outstanding candidate to be the catalyst for a 'Buried Alive' reprise (Danhausen? Come on, be serious).

That isn't to say there won't be in the future though.
