With Danhausen now reigning supreme as the King of New York, WWE Hall of Famer JBL has had plenty of praise for the Very Nice, Very Evil star, despite admitting that he doesn't understand the gimmick.

Speaking on the latest episode of Something to Wrestle, the former WWE Champion said:

"We said it would happen, that Danhausen was gonna be at the NBA finals, and he was there. He did a great job. People love stuff like this. I don't care where he comes from, wrestling is huge right now, and its association with ESPN is one of the best deals ever made in the history of professional wrestling. Whether he's from a show, whether he's from Broadway, whatever he is, he has caught fire right now, and the NBA loves this guy, and for good reason. He's really talented, he's good at what he does. And people love the Knicks right now."

Bradshaw continued:

"I don’t want to give him any advice. Sometimes young guys will come to me for advice. I don’t understand the Danhausen character. I kind of have some thoughts about it, but he’s doing so great. You don’t want to give advice, and then they take your advice and get themselves out of what their thought process is that got them over. And so, I think he's gonna come up with some stuff that works, but you have a new iteration, about a curse, about the re-curse. I think there's some stuff he can do here that's gonna be really good, and I think it's huge for him."

Of course, Danhausen is one of the most popular figures in the wrestling game right now, piercing the mainstream thanks to his appearances on ESPN and at Madison Square Garden as part of the New York Knicks' charge towards a first NBA Championship win in 53 years; a win that was cemented at the weekend with a 94-90 victory against the San Antonio Spurs that gave the Knicks a 4-1 series win. Famously, Danhausen uncursed the Knicks in April, and has since demanded, amongst other things, a mural of himself on Madison Square Garden, a giant blimp between Snoopy and Garfield, a role in Severance Season 3, and a free house on Sesame Street.

WWE has already put out various pieces of Danhausen x New York Knicks merchandise, and the star is expected to be a prominent part of next month's Saturday Night's Main Event that just so happens to take place from MSG.
