8. Ricochet

Bald for as long as he's been in the mainstream, Ricochet embraced his nude noggin shortly after jumping territories to Tony Khan's AEW during the summer of 2024.

At first, and in a very WWE-like development, lacking a single strand atop his dome formed the foundation of Ricochet's character, but in a very unlike WWE development, the simple gimmick getting over with AEW's core audience didn't result in its legs being cut off. Turning heel turned up the ante. While also forgoing the acrobatics that had propelled him to a worldwide audience, degrading head slaps became a core part of Ricochet's matches, as did crowd choruses pointing out the Illinoisan's baldness.

It's all very child-friendly in execution, rare for a promotion as renowned for its strong style showdowns as it is for its bloodbath World Title feuds, but in an almost sublime sense, being bald has provided Ricochet with career stability, and it's just as well he embraced the loss of his luscious locks.

Somehow simultaneously receding and overflowing, Ricochet's mane was very of its time, but unlike its very slightly less atrocious cousin, the mullet, nobody is trying to make it cool again.
