What was he doing at the time?

Losing. Epico was on the second ever episode of NXT from Full Sail University, and in its first match at that. He stared at the arena lights there, though not the ones on the hard camera - his loss to R-Truth was exclusively to warm the crowd up rather than for any potentially interested TV viewers, and things hadn't been going that well on the main roster either. Alongside Primo, he'd lost the Tag gold to Truth and Kofi Kingston, and the pair were getting nowhere near winning them back on an endless house show loop.

What is he doing now?

As of 2026, getting work for Tony Khan via Ring Of Honor. Following a long spell on the indies after a 2019 exit from WWE, Epico eventually linked back up with Primo (as Orlando and Eddie, respectively) to make towns for WWC, Impact and eventually ROH. Their record as of writing seems to bode well too - the tenured team have a 2-1 win/loss record on a show that serves as much as a developmental vehicle of sorts as it does a hot commodity. As experienced hands, the 44 and 43 year-olds aren't even out of their wrestler primes, but might have found the perfect fit helping others ascend.
