Every Original WWE NXT Black & Gold Roster Member - Where Are They Now?

16. The Usos

What were they doing at the time?

Not dying, but not exactly flying.

The Usos were in and out of the wrestling wilderness within WWE for much of the first half of the 2010s, despite a narrative suggesting the opposite by the company itself. Such was the life of a tag team in the market leader back then. NXT was something for them to do in 2012, but in their appearances in two of the first few shows, they took losses to the Prime Time Players and The Ascension. That's "good hand" stuff - not a bad place to be, but they were still waiting to play hard in the paint, let alone opening the iron gates to the Uso Penitentiary.

What are they doing now?

Despite plenty of in-ring performances to the contrary, Jimmy and Jey Uso are the latest to be anointed as the greatest tag team in company history. Having broken the title reign longevity record previously held by The New Day in 2022, the pair then went on to become the first to defend the Tag Team Championships in the main event of WrestleMania, losing to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a critically acclaimed 2023 Night One headliner

Jey later went on to win the Royal Rumble and World Heavyweight Championship in 2025, and when he couldn't quite live up to expectations on top, order was restored and the duo were doubles Champions again by the end of the year.
