"I'm Tired Of People Saying I'm Just An Entrance" - Jey Uso vs. The Critics (WWE News)
WWE's Jey Uso hits back at his critics.
Ahead of challenging for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship this weekend, WWE's Jey Uso has hit back at those critics who think he's nothing more than an exciting entrance.
Main Event Jey goes up against CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend for that World Heavyweight Title, and he used an appearance on the Raw Recap show (via f4wonline) to take a shot at those people who say he's "just an entrance".
As Uso put it:
"I still have fun. I still throw a party every Monday. I still like the kids. I still 'Yeet' with them. But when the bell rings, I've got to switch modes now if I'm trying to get to the top. I've got big hitters in front of me; guys like CM Punk, guys like Gunther, guys like Seth Rollins. I got a heavy list in front of me, and I just can't play no more. I'm tired of people saying I'm just an entrance, I ain't got the skills to hold it down up top. I just switch modes. I might be going back to the old ways, Bloodline ways, but that kind of mentality got the job done."
Of course, Jey Uso was very much speaking in character here, but there is a semblance of reality in what the former World Heavyweight Champion says, with some Uso critics claiming that, whilst his entrance through the crowd is fantastic, it's a different matter once it comes time for the bell to ring and for Jey to have a singles match.
As mentioned, up next for Jey is CM Punk at SNME, with the two vying to become the new World Heavyweight Champion after Seth Rollins was forced to vacate that title earlier this month. In a storyline sense, Rollins is on the shelf courtesy of an attack from Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, though the reality is that Seth has had to have shoulder surgery after suffering an injury in his Crown Jewel match against Cody Rhodes.
While it's Uso vs. Punk this Saturday, it still remains to be seen whether we'll get a decisive winner or whether we'll get some sort of involvement from the Vision...
