As many fans had speculated, WWE's Seth Rollins was stripped of the World Heavyweight Championship on last night's edition of WWE Raw.

The Raw opening segment featured General Manager Adam Pearce and the Vision, complete with Bron Breakker holding the World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder. That is, until Pearce demanded Breakker hand over that piece of gold, which the second-generation Steiner reluctantly did, though he gave the belt to Paul Heyman to pass to the Raw GM rather than directly hand Pearce that prize himself.

From there, Adam Pearce declared that, due to Seth Rollins' injury, the Raw main event would be a battle royal, with the winner earning themselves a match against CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event on 1 November, where the winner of that match will become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Of course, the Second City Saint won a triple threat against Jey Uso and LA Knight on last week's Raw to land himself a shot at Rollins and the World Heavyweight Title. From a kayfabe stance, the Rollins injury was attributed to last week's attack on Seth by Breakker and Bronson Reed, and so, as a punishment for that, Pearce didn't allow the Bron-Brons to compete in the battle royal.

That battle royal came down to Jimmy and Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Dominik Mysterio, with Main Event Jey seizing an opportunity to dump both his twin brother and Knight over the top, and then eliminating Dirty Dom to win the match and cement his path back to World Heavyweight Title contention at Saturday Night's Main Event in just under two weeks. Raw ended with Jey and Punk having a staredown in the ring, as a disgruntled Jimmy Uso watched on from the entrance ramp; Big Jim had saved his brother from elimination several times during that battle royal, only for Jey to then take advantage of an opportunity to eliminate Jimmy.

Where Seth Rollins is concerned, the Visionary is expected to undergo surgery - if he hasn't already - for a shoulder injury he suffered at Crown Jewel, with that injury believed to have occurred when Seth hit his coast-to-coast diving headbutt on his way to victory over Cody Rhodes. There's no set timeline for Rollins' return, but plans for a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 next year are now up in the air.
