30. Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania 36, Night 2)

It is a triumph for both Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre that this match is so far up the list, given the unprecedented circumstances of their WrestleMania 36 encounter. Taking part during the whole world shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was impossible for anyone to truly invest in a pro wrestling match in an empty arena during one of the most confusing eras in human history.

Nevertheless, this was a terrific story of redemption for Drew McIntyre. While it is now widely accepted that McIntyre is one of pro wrestling's greatest all-rounders, this was the night that WWE finally believed in 'The Scottish Warrior', crowning him on their grandest stage against the man that had been booked as the company's end of level boss for so many years.

McIntyre had already eliminated 'The Beast' from the 2020 Royal Rumble with a thunderous Claymore, cementing him as a fan favourite and readying him for the push his work had so richly deserved. The pandemic took this momentum from him in the cruelest of ways. He slayed 'The Beast' at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship, but it would still take him a few more years to cement himself as one of WWE's most valuable performers. Thankfully, his brilliance made this a temporary delay, and not a permanent one.
