25. Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair (WrestleMania 35)
There are so many regrets around this match that it is difficult to see the relative merits of the match itself. Becky Lynch was getting 'Stone Cold' pops everywhere she went. Her transformation into becoming 'The Man' had been a slam dunk with fans, the image of her bloodied face had taken the world by storm. She also had a natural rival in 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey.
Just a year on from the former UFC Champion's debut, Rousey was a worthy WrestleMania headliner, who had established herself as a capable WWE Superstar and brought outside legitimacy to the women's division. The four horsewomen of NXT had long-since built that dynasty with fans inside WWE, but Rousey's respect from mainstream outlets meant the time was perfect for women to get their first shot at headlining WrestleMania.
Then there's Charlotte Flair. Flair had been sensational for years, rising from NXT to be one of women's wrestling's greatest competitors, but she had no business being in this match. Rousey and Lynch had a believable beef that had spilled from social media into promos and a great build. Throw in the botched finish to this match that saw Lynch crucifix Rousey for the win, and earning both the Raw and SmackDown women's championships, and things didn't reach their intended crescendo. Lynch and Rousey had lost their moment, and there will always be more intrigue around what might have been than reverance for what was served.
