Ranking Every WWE WrestleMania Main Event - From Worst To Best
10. Triple H vs Shawn Michaels vs Chris Benoit (WrestleMania 20)
Separating the art from a problematic artist is difficult at the best of times, but it is almost impossible to do it when it comes to the main event of WrestleMania 20. An evening that ended with a real "changing of the guard" for WWE, involved Eddie Guerrero pinning Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship, and would end with another of WWE's rising superstars winning the World Heavyweight Championship, as the broadcast went off the air with both men celebrating their title wins together.
Shawn Michaels and Triple H were involved in a great feud for the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw. Michaels would try desperately to dethrone the leader of Evolution but was unable to do so in two matches that ended in draws, one on the December 29th edition of Monday Night Raw and another awesome Last Man Standing Match at the 2004 Royal Rumble.
The 2004 Royal Rumble would be won by Chris Benoit, who would become the first man to change brands for his WrestleMania title shot, jumping from SmackDown to Raw to challenge Triple H. Michaels would interrupt the contract signing for that match, hitting the Canadian with Sweet Chin Music and signing the contract for himself. The outcome would be a Triple Threat Match in which three of the best in-ring workers of all time would put on a classic match that will forever feel awkward to talk about. Benoit won the match and the World Heavyweight Championship, but this WrestleMania main event is forgotten about for very obvious and understandable reasons.
