Vision member Austin Theory would agree with fans who reckon he was "robbed" of a banner moment with the Money In The Bank briefcase. Theory won the case on 2 July 2022, but didn't cash it in until the 7 November edition of flagship show Raw. Unfortunately, things didn't go smoothly for him.

An expected main event push, which had seemed to be on the cards during Vince McMahon's time in charge of WWE creative, was quickly squashed by Triple H. Theory cashed in MITB on reigning United States Champ Seth Rollins, but lost (in no small part to interference from Bobby Lashley). That, as they say, was very much that.

Many fans and industry critics at the time pointed out how low-rent Austin looked for never really chasing top champ Roman Reigns instead. Theory told his stablemate Logan Paul's podcast that he "felt like there could have been a moment" with the 'Tribal Chief'.

They did share the ring for a promo skit though. During that, Roman ridiculed Theory by saying: "Your daddy's not here anymore". He was talking about McMahon. According to Austin, he'd wanted to snap back by pretty much repeating the same thing to Reigns - thus pointing out that Roman was more of a Vince guy than he'd ever been.

Theory added: "I knew I wasn’t gonna get the title off Roman, but even just building it to seem like ‘oh, here we go’. I can lose to him, whatever, but just give it more of a payoff, because it felt cool man. I did a lot of cool things with it".

Despite failing when cashing in, Austin still has the MITB case hanging in his office.
