Tommy Dreamer has been pulled from his regular spot on Busted Open Radio as the controversy from last week's Plane Ride From Hell episode of VICE's Dark Side of the Ring continues.

Speaking on yesterday's episode of Busted Open Radio, host Dave LaGreca said that Dreamer is currently "off the show," though he doesn't know how long the former ECW wrestler will be absent.

Dreamer came in for considerable criticism following Dark Side of the Ring's airing on 17 September 2021, on which he was a talking head. Speaking on Ric Flair's alleged sexual misconduct towards flight attendant Heidi Doyle, Dreamer appeared to make light of the situation, calling it a "joke" that Doyle "took offence to." Later, Tommy compared Heidi's distress in 2002 to people taking offense to his haircut in 2021.

IMPACT Wrestling responded quickly, suspending Dreamer from his role as a producer, creative team member, and on-air talent. The 50-year-old has since issued the following statement on the matter:-

"Regarding my comments on Dark Side of the ring. It was never my intention to offend, hurt, or victim shame anyone. I understand my comments were insensitive and could trigger emotions in someone's own personal past. I do not condone sexual misconduct of any kind. I apologise to anyone I offended. From the bottom of my heart I am sorry."
