WWE Backlash 2026: 10 Things That NEED To Happen

8. Kairi Sane Returns

The Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez claims there's at least a 50% chance that Kairi Sane pops back up like her name's R-Truth and this is 2025 at Backlash 2026. Like Truth, Kairi's exit from the company has irked the fanbase, so much so that a #WeWantKairi hashtag is trending on socials and loud, "WE WANT KAIRI" chants can be heard during Raw shows.

That's why it wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if Sane was flown in for a one-off appearance to put a bow on the story she was involved with before departing WWE. Asuka and IYO SKY will tear the house down regardless, but it'd be really cool to see Kairi rush out, turn on Asuka, gift the win to IYO on a silver platter then celebrate with her before stepping out of the spotlight.

Some closure would be lovely here.

Sane was arguably never going to be treated as the major star of the women's division she threatened to be at one point down in NXT. It just hasn't happened for her on the main roster across multiple spells now, but she was a vital cog in the ex-Damage CTRL stablemates split, and WWE have to honour that properly.

Of course, something else must be said: Kairi might not want to return for a one-off. If Triple H words it as helping out her buddies, then she probs will though. These women are all close behind the scenes, so it'd be class if Sane was there for the blow off.
