WWE Backlash 2026: 9 Nightmares That Could Come True

5. Too Many Moving Parts Wreck The Main

Speaking of Fatu, here's another point: His main event vs. Roman Reigns at Backlash should be 1v1 without endless urn-ins (a trope of The Bloodline era and Roman's 'Tribal Chief' matches; more so when he was heel) and that sort of thing. Jimmy and Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga could all get involved in the match.

That actually sounds pretty likely.

It’d be fine to have a run-in from someone, but not everybody, and not Solo with Talla. Being a bit harsh (probably), they shouldn’t be this high up the card at the moment. The MFTs group WWE put around Sikoa was a flop, as evidenced by the fact that guys like JC Mateo and Tonga Loa have been cut from the roster without warning.

Solo has personality, but not as a vicious heel badass. Talla is really finding his feet as an act around here too, and he doesn't feel anywhere close to the level of Reigns, Jacob or even The Usos right now. Arguably, he only reaches that point by interacting with them, but no - Fatu should be handling Roman on his own, especially after mauling almost everyone else en route to this PLE.

If this writer was going to pick one act to interfere, it'd be The Usos. They're the only ones that actually make sense, and recent bouts like Jacob vs. Solo on SmackDown prove that there isn't much juice to that program anyway.

Keep it simple, please. The bout is a routine title defence for Reigns but can still elevate Jacob. Let's focus on that rather than lazy run-in after run-in.
