WWE Clash In Italy 2026: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True
5. Tribal Combat Doesn’t Improve On Backlash
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu did a sparkling job with their bout at Backlash. The exposed buckle finish was excellently-worked, and it protected Fatu just enough that a rematch was necessary. Of course, there’s always a concern that rematches won’t better what came before, but WWE will be hoping that isn’t the case on this occasion.
They kinda need to keep Fatu's momentum rolling along, and they're keen to keep Roman as happy as possible so he sticks around instead of going home for extended periods or accepting another movie role. 'What's that? Street Fighter II is shooting?! Uh oh!'. Seriously though, it'd really suck if 'Tribal Combat' was a giant letdown.
Nothing is guaranteed, right enough. These bespoke Bloodline battles tend to be heavy on interference and other bells or whistles, which means The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, Tama Tonga (and maybe even someone who's been jawing off about Reigns like LA Knight) could all show face to get involved come Clash.
That seemingly endless string of run-ins could maybe detract from the story of Fatu being too hot to handle for Roman without the help or a few handy shortcuts. Hmm, we'll probably find out this weekend if that's the case or not. Besides, something else about the match has yours truly biting his fingernails.
It could, in theory, lead to a not-so-subtle demotion for the 'Samoan Werewolf' just as things look to be heading in the right direction for him towards main event status. What if it's all about to fall apart for the guy?
