WWE Had HUGE Plans For Seth Rollins Before He Got Injured (WWE News)
The latest on WWE's plans for Seth Rollins.
While fans await further details on Seth Rollins' WWE status, there are now some details on what the company initially had lined up for the Visionary in the coming months.
Rollins was injured in his WWE Crown Jewel match against Cody Rhodes over the weekend, with it believed that the current World Heavyweight Champion may have damaged his shoulder during his coast-to-coast headbutt spot. Seth is due to undergo further tests this week, as WWE eagerly awaits an update on one of their MVPs. As a result of this, Rollins was kicked out of his own Vision faction on Monday night, with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turning on their leader.
In an update on what the original upcoming plans were for Seth Rollins, Dave Meltzer, on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, noted that Seth was scheduled to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42, and that next month's Saturday Night's Main Event was due to be Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Title against long-time rival CM Punk. Meltzer also added that he's under the belief that Seth is due to undergo shoulder surgery "soon", and is expected to miss at least several months of action.
Obviously, this comes as a major blow for WWE, with Seth Rollins one of their most consistent performers, leading one of their most featured factions, and being a go-to talent for whatever the company needs - be that as a babyface, a heel, at the top of the card, in the midcard, or in any other role that needs filling.
It remains to be seen whether that WrestleMania 42 match will still be possible, and more imminently, it remains to be seen what will happen with the World Heavyweight Championship and that 1 November edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. CM Punk earned himself a shot at Raw's top men's prize at SNME by winning a triple threat match on Monday night, but there's now some uncertainty over who the Second City Saint will be facing for that title.
