Let’s be honest: WWE could have run a test pattern for the first two hours and 28 minutes of Raw on Monday night, and the red brand still would be the topic of conversation right now.

Raw went off the air with its World Heavyweight Champion brutally attacked, laid out just 48 hours after picking up a major victory at Crown Jewel. Complicating matters was that his attackers were his own stablemates.

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed flattened Seth Rollins as Raw concluded, effectively torpedoing The Vision and shocking many in the wrestling world. The sudden about-face could be tied to a potential Rollins injury, or it could be the result of WWE growing wary of declining ratings and a stale product. Or it could be a combination of everything.

Nonetheless, WWE upended its main-event storyline Monday night, generating gigantic talking points for wrestling critics and fans alike, while potentially spurring interest in the product, at least in the short term.

In-ring action was mostly solid-to-very good, with the main event being a disappointment and one other match unsurprisingly failing to deliver. Kairi Sane, in particular, had a really good night, garnering sympathy backstage and then going out and being a pesky villain, thwarting Australia’s own Rhea Ripley at several turns.

CM Punk earned a world title match, but that felt like more of an obligation rather than a happy moment. Hopefully, that is more of a byproduct of what followed the contender’s match rather than an indicator of interest and focus in a Punk world title feud.

Let’s get to it…
