PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be back on the road in time for Friday's SmackDown show in Indianapolis, Indiana. The veteran has been absent for two weeks following a brutal onscreen beatdown by The Bloodline, who, on SmackDown's 21 October episode, destroyed Sheamus' arm with steel chairs and the ring steps.

In reality, Sheamus was taking time away from WWE television to marry long-time partner Isabella Revilla in New York City. WWE kayfabed a "non-displaced fracture near his elbow" to cover this.

Fellow SmackDown star Drew McIntyre was also granted time away to attend the ceremony, skipping a handful of dates on WWE's short European tour as a result. Former WWE wrestlers and current AEW stars Miro and Claudio Castagnoli were in attendance too.

Sheamus & The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium & The Bloodline

At 44 years old Sheamus is currently in some of the best form of his wrestling career, surging in popularity and critical acclaim not only for singles performances opposite the likes of GUNTHER, but also for group efforts with Brawling Brutes stablemates Butch and Ridge Holland.

Sheamus has credited Butch and Holland with reigniting his passion for professional wrestling. Together, the trio engaged in a lengthy war with Imperium over the summer, peaking with the celebrated Sheamus vs. GUNTHER Intercontinental Title match at Clash At The Castle. Now, the Brawling Brutes appear to be pivoting towards a full-on Bloodline rivalry.

Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa, and The Usos have had their fair share of run-ins with the Brutes lately - and WarGames is around the corner at Survivor Series. With the women's bout being put together on Raw, perhaps SmackDown will provide the men's.
