WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True
8. WWE Misses The Boat On A Mega-Match
Stephanie Vaquer vs. Rhea Ripley has been lined up as babyface vs. babyface on TV lately. Missing out on that to give IYO SKY another title reign and have her feud with Asuka would be bold. Don’t get it wrong: IYO vs. Asuka would be fire and they'd have some banging matches as rivals, but Vaquer vs. Ripley sounds like even more fun.
SKY can battle Asuka and Kairi Sane without the belt on the line anyway.
Vaquer is set for a mega-push. WWE top brass clearly love what they're seeing, so it'd be a shocker if she didn't beat SKY here then rolled on to face 'Mami' over in Australia come Crown Jewel, or something like that. Sure, Perth would be baying for blood in the immediate aftermath of Rhea's loss, but they'd understand the assignment. Stephanie is already popular enough to offset some of the negative feedback that'd surely pour in anyway.
Of course, an alternative would be skipping Crown Jewel so Ripley has a definitive heel to work with in front of a partisan crowd, then picking things right back up between her and Vaquer heading into Survivor Series. Or...what if Trips favours going with IYO vs. Rhea again? They've got chemistry coming out of their ears, but WWE must be careful not to hit burnout with them.
Missing the boat on Vaquer's title win and resultant push just to get a combo fans have already seen back in the ring would have to be viewed as a mistake. Sadly, it's one that could happen, especially if the boss is unconvinced that Steph vs. Ripley would work in 2025.
