It was incredibly difficult choosing just one cover from Aleš Kot's brutal and thought-provoking Days Of Hate, but it was a series that absolutely deserved to be mentioned in this year-end list. Each cover has served as a tableau of human disconnect and political angst; a smoking cigarette resting on an American passport, a decapitated teddy bear, and two hands bound in barbed wire, gently letting go of one another.
This stark and oftentimes bleak imagery is perhaps why the Warhol-flavoured issue 4's cover stands out among the rest, which implies an image of peace and youthful rebellion all in one go.
