Kick-Ass was a truly rare beast when it was first published, a comic full of foul language, mature themes and wincingly realised violence that still went on to great success and critical acclaim in the mainstream.
It was this final splash page in issue one of Mark Millar's controversial tale of real-life superheroes that the mood of Kick-Ass was set - superheroes get beaten up, defeated and bested in combat... but in the real world they just get their asses f*****g kicked.
