The Vision was originally created by Ultron for the sole purpose of killing the Avengers, which he nearly did in his origin issue, Avengers #57.

In the following issue, the team makes the decision to adopt the android onto the Avengers' roster, and Vision takes the news with a tear in this gorgeous splash page illustrated by John Buscema.
