The X-Men Days of Future Past storyline involved the destruction of pretty much everything at the hands of the Sentinels.

When an older Wolverine makes a leap to take on one of the robotic enemies, he is just a bit too slow and winds up getting fried in this iconic panel from John Byrne, Chris Claremont and Terry Austin's Uncanny X-Men #142.
