10 Actors Who Virtually Guarantee A Terrible Blockbuster Movie
2. Mark Wahlberg
Similar to his fellow Bostonian Ben Affleck, the jury always seems to have been out on whether or not Mark Wahlberg is a good actor. Let's not forget that the former Marky Mark has Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations to his name, but there's no denying that his performances are vastly superior when he isn't playing the leading man in action-orientated content.
When he's not stuffed into a tight t shirt as the straight-faced man of action and can really sink his teeth into a character, the results are exponentially better as ably demonstrated in the likes of Boogie Nights, The Departed, The Fighter and even Seth McFarlane's Ted.
That doesn't mean he isn't content to continue starring in utter drivel, and despite having The Truth About Charlie, Shooter, The Happening, two Transformers movies and Mile 22 to name but a few under his belt, he still hasn't had his action hero credentials revoked.
