10 Biggest Video Game Movie Flops

3. Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li

Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li
20th Century Fox

Budget: $50 million

US Box Office: $8,742,261

A sequel in spirit to 1994’s Street Fighter (with Jean-Claude Van Damme), this 2009 version of the Capcom game is lacking everything that made JCVD’s movie so much dumb fun. Even though the director is Andrzej Bartkowiak (Doom), it’s a movie short of memorable characters and decent action.

No movie that casts Chris Klein as a badass FBI agent should take itself this seriously, and no movie with this much cornball dialogue (“Your father has been the milk of my business, but even milk has an expiration date”) should be allowed to play theatrically. Fortunately, the film fell out of the top ten after one week and was consigned to DVD.

What The Critics Said: “It boggles the mind that The Legend Of Chun-Li is as vapid and dull as it is.” (Austin Chronicle)
