10 Famous Movies That People Still Believe Are Cursed

Stay away from making films about the devil, whatever you do.

If a film overruns on its schedule and goes over budget, people will say that it's cursed. If a film is in development hell for years and does no business when it opens, people will say it's cursed. If a star leaves the production only for their replacements to then leave production, people will say that the production is cursed. People will say a film is cursed for just about anything. Hollywood is not exactly known for its subtlety or restraint and when things go wrong, the hyperbole that follows is usually nothing short of spectacular. By blaming a film's failings on a curse is an easy way out and displaces the blame that the people that made the thing should really be receiving. But there are those rare films that do seem to have more than their share of unfortunate accidents, incidents and even people's deaths linked to them. For those films, the curse label seems to fit and their legends have grown to the point where the moniker is hardly disputed. The public buys into the curse and it makes the films' story infinitely more interesting. Are those films actually cursed, or is it all just a coincidence? Do people overact, put two and two together and make five? Are we the victim of publicity stunts or misinformation? Take a look at these ten supposedly cursed films and decide for yourself.
