10 Horror Movie Characters Given Last Minute Deaths

Production on the ninth Friday the 13th film, Jason Goes to Hell, was appropriately hellish, with 23-year-old first-time filmmaker Adam Marcus inexplicably securing the gig, only to clash harshly with franchise co-creator Sean S. Cunningham throughout shooting.

Cunningham was ultimately unsatisfied with the cut that Marcus turned in, and so opted to reshoot roughly half the film himself, albeit while still giving Marcus sole credit.

The reshoots included the addition of entirely new scenes and deaths, including the now-infamous tent scene in which a pair of mid-coitus campers at Crystal Lake are brutally slaughtered by Jason (Kane Hodder).

Legend dictates that Cunningham felt the movie needed not only more violence but also more skin, and so opted to kill two birds with one stone - literally - by conjuring up a sexy new death scene which additionally served as a nod to the series' more modest, camp-set origins.
