10 Horror Movie Trailers That Lied to Everybody

As this list proves, there are plenty of trailers that have become infamous for telling porkies. However, a more accurate term for such promotions is "misleading". Trailers can be deceptive, but it's not like they fibbed about the film's premise, right?

That's exactly what Alien 3's teaser trailer did. 

This cursed threequel had one of the most troubled productions in cinematic history, going through half a dozen directors and countless scripts. Hoping to maintain public interest in the delayed property, a teaser was rushed out a year before release. 

That footage was under a minute long but it got people talking since it supposedly confirmed Alien 3 would see the titular critters finally make their way to Earth.

Although William Gibson's early script had the Xenomorph crash-landing on our planet, this particular story never materialised. Instead, the Alien 3 we got involved Ripley landing on a prison-like moon that was not Earth.

Even though this reviled clip came out decades ago, Alien fans are still pissed they never got to see Ripley kicking Xenomorph butt on our world.
