2. Are We Getting S.H.I.E.L.D. Back?

S.H.I.E.L.D. currently doesn't exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain America: The Winter Soldier revealed that HYDRA had been taking the organisation over in parasitic fashion for many years - and they finally revealed themselves in the super soldier sequel as having destroyed the espionage organisation from within. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series would go on to explore the storyline more, but it only really served to confirm what we already knew €“ that S.H.I.E.L.D. no longer exists officially €“ and that the remaining faithful S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have one hell of a task on their hands to put it back together. Former director Nick Fury has put Phil Coulson in charge of doing so, but it would appear that season two of the television series will focus on them acting more as vigilantes without an organisation to work for. In phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we will hopefully find out if the organisation will ever return officially. As the party responsible for bringing the Avengers together and defeating many evil threats, we certainly hope it does.
