10 MCU Character Changes We Will Likely See In Phase 4

And the next leader of the Avengers is...

Black Panther Shuri

Phase Four has been something of a new beginning for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The conclusion of the Infinity Saga has allowed the franchise to move forward with a strong balance of both long-tenured characters and the new blood that was so needed after more than a decade.

It is these incredible characters, both old and new, that have helped the franchise grow to the ridiculous size that it has, and they will continue to do so in the future. Over the years, the heroes and villains of the MCU will continue to evolve with the wider universe itself.

Even if it is something as small as a costume tweak, there is typically something different for every character with each new appearance, so even with characters that have only been on our screens once or twice, it's never too early to theorise on how they will transform and change moving forward.

There is no magical Marvel crystal ball to look into the future, but based on what has been seen so far, and more than a little referencing the source material, it's not hard to plot where some characters' development is likely to go in the coming years.

10. America Chavez Will Form & Lead The Young Avengers

America Chavez, though arguably underutilised, was one of the standouts of what many thought to be a disappointing first cinematic release for the MCU in 2022. Her introduction was just the beginning however, and she is sure to have a big role to play in the future of the franchise.

A solo project for the character seems all but inevitable at this point, though whether on the big screen or Disney+ is less certain. One thing that does feel more and more certain however, is the impending introduction of the Young Avengers, something that Miss America will undoubtedly have a hand in.

Along with the likes of Cassie Lang, Kid Loki, Billy and Tommy Maximoff, Kate Bishop, and even Eli Bradley, the MCU has put together quite a potential roster for the team. They just need someone to bring them together, and with the only option for the Maximoff boys and Kid Loki to join via the multiverse, who better to bring them together than America?

Now a Master of the Mystic Arts in training, with Strange potentially being kept busy with Clea in the Dark Dimension and Wong off doing his own thing (more on this soon), it could fall to America to face whatever threatens Earth next, and she is far too inexperienced to do it alone.
