10 MCU Characters Missing From Marvel's Phase 4 (And Why)

Netflix

Marvel Television has been folded into Marvel Studios meaning that Kevin Feige is now in charge of, well, everything. The company's deal with Netflix means that the Marvel characters who starred in the TV shows which culminated in The Defenders are off limits for at least two more years.

While fans would like to see more of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher, it's Daredevil they're really desperate to see on the big screen. However, that deal means it won't happen in Phase 4 (so much for Matt Murdock being Spider-Man's lawyer after he was framed by Mysterio), and when that reboot does eventually come to pass, it probably won't be Charlie Cox who plays the Man Without Fear.

According to Rolling Stone reporter Alan Sepinwall, when Daredevil does return to the MCU, Marvel Studios will "be starting over from scratch creatively, like Sony ditching the Andrew Garfield movies for Tom Holland as Spider-Man."

That's a shame for fans of the current iterations of these characters, but it's no secret Feige has never paid much attention to the Marvel TV shows. Moving forward, he'll obviously want to put his own spin of them when the time comes and that closes the door on any surprise appearances during Phase 4.
