10 Most Insufferable Movies Since 2000

4. Disaster Movie

Disaster Movie is a Scary Movie-style spoof written and directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, who also perpetrated The Starving Games, Vampires Suck and Meet The Spartans. Their continued presence in multiplexes suggests the backing of a sinister cabal who wishes to control young minds through the popular culture.

Bill Hicks used to joke about how such a cabal had an agenda to keep people stupid, docile and apathetic, and used 56 channels of American Gladiators to achieve their ends. Disaster Movie and its like are the 21st century equivalent, pure drivel manufactured to distract the masses from what€™'s happening outside their window.

Friedberg and Seltzer don€™t actually satirize anything, they just reward their junk food-munching demographic for their pop culture knowledge. Their films aren€™'t meant to be viewed by anyone out of their late teens which, given the level of wit on display, is just as well. If you can'€™t mock Hanna Montana or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, get a day job.
