2. Torture Gone Wrong - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N64EMzGR8Ts&t=3m25s Given how Shane Black's sublimely smart neo noir is a farce pretty much from start to finish, a lot of the bloopers from this scene would fit within the narrative no problem. The first comes when Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer's torturer drops his gun before quickly picking it up and trying to appear menacing. Kilmer's Gay Perry shouts, "You're a moron", before rising up out of his chair - which he is supposed to be inescapably bound to - and sarcastically moving over to pick up the gun's clips for him. Following this up, as Kilmer tries to shoot the assailant through a hole in his pocket, the timing of the squib and the torturer's reaction don't line up, making for a hilarious scene of absolute confusion. With some editing, both of these exchanges could have added to the zaniness of the story; after all, it's not like we're ever supposed to take the story seriously, so Black is able to play fast and loose with the ad-libbing and the mistakes when in the editing room. I particularly like the idea that the pair are being tortured by the least-threatening person in human history; he can't even keep a hold of his gun.
