10 Movies That Could Be The Big Surprise Hit Of 2016

This year is about a lot more than Batman V Superman V Captain America V Iron Man.

Wow, 2016 is a big year for movies, right? A Star Wars spin-off, more superhero flicks than ever before, a bunch of slick CGI reboots of old properties and not to mention the barrage of sequels to classic movies. The box office better be ready. But while there's some guaranteed hits in there (and a few duds - does anybody really expect The Legend Of Tarzan to succeed?), there's no avoiding that with the blockbusters we're only getting half the story. After all, these movie's hype machines have been in gear since before some of the year's smaller releases were even conceived, meaning we knew about them well before the year kicked off. But there's a whole host of movies that will define the year we haven't even considered yet At the start 2015, would everybody have expected films like Room or Brooklyn to be the breakout hits of the year? Heck, on the blockbuster level, who actually thought Mad Max: Fury Road would be the best of the lot? Sometimes it's the unexpected gems that hit the biggest. And, likewise, 2016 is about a lot more than Batman V Superman V Captain America V Iron Man. Here are the ten movies most likely to unexpectedly hit big in 2016, whether that be an indie making their way into the mainstream or a risky big-budget prospect putting the rest to shame.
