10 Movies You Didn't Know Were Connected

6. Ghostbusters And Caddyshack

This entry was originally going to be about Dan Ackroyd turning up in 1995's Casper as his character from Ghostbusters, but that is a pretty direct reference to the film.

We've plumbed for something a bit more subtle. So subtle, in fact, that it didn't even make it into the final cut of the movie!

In a deleted scene from the 1984 comedy great, Rick Moranis' character Louis Tully is being chased through a park by a ghostly hound. He runs past two hobos, one of whom has a very familiar voice.

Fans of the 1980 film Caddyshack will instantly recognise the dulcet tones of Carl Spackler, the unhinged groundskeeper from the movie. He's portrayed by Bill Murray who, of course, is also very famously in Ghostbusters.

The connections don't stop their either. Caddyshack was directed by the late Harold Ramis, who portrays Murray's colleague, Egon Spengler, in the film as well.

The reason the scene was cut from the movie is unknown, but it's a shame that it didn't make the final edit. Both films are hiklarious and beloved in equal measure and a better known connection between the two would only heighten fans' enjoyment of them both.
