One of the most significant monsters of the last 50 years is undoubtedly Godzilla. The radioactive dinosaur is the central character of one of the longest running film franchises in human history. Since his introduction all the way back in 1954, he has starred in 28 films, cartoons, multiple comic book series from Marvel, Dark Horse Comics, and IDW, and numerous video games. He even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Needless to say, he is a pop culture icon known around the world, despite the fact that most people probably have never watched a single Godzilla film. On May 15th, the King of the Monsters will finally return after a decade long hiatus in a big budget American reboot of the series. Produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., Godzilla is directed by newcomer Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche, and Sally Hawkins.
