McConaughey is bad enough, but McConaughey taking his clothes off and
dancing? You gotta be kidding me. Little did I know, Matthew had recently decided to "be a good actor" and his genuinely incredible resurgence as a performer of worth was about to begin. His recent turnaround has been remarkable. Said turnaround arguably first became apparent with the actors's turn as - yes - a male stripper in Steven Soderbergh's
Magic Mike. As the leader of a group of strippers, Dallas, McConaughey dazzled and amazed everyone with what was an oddly mesmerising and dedicated performance, one that most of us might never have attributed to the likes of him. It was refreshing to see him doing what looked like real acting, especially with such a bizarre character. Since, McConaughey has been on a roll. Can't say the man doesn't deserve it based on his performance here alone.
